FINISHING CONCRETE <br />When the concrete has been deposited, it shall be approximately leveled <br />and then struck off to such elevation that when mechanically tamped the <br />concrete shall be thoroughly compacted and finished to the required <br />line, grade and section shown on Plans with all voids filled. <br />While the concrete is still workable, it stiall be tested for <br />irregularities with a ten (10) foot straightedge placed parallel so as <br />to bridge depressions and to toUCh all high spots. The finished surface <br />of the concrete pavement shall at no place exceed one-sixteenth (1/16) <br />inch per foot from the nearest point of contact, and in no case shall <br />the maximum ordinate to a ten (10) foot straightedge be greater than <br />one-eighth (1/8) inch. Any surface not within the tolerance limits <br />shall be reworked or refinished. <br />All exposed concrete surface shall be given a light broom finish. The <br />edges of sla.b and all joints shall be carefully tooled with an edger. <br />CURIAIG CONCRETE SURFACE <br />Immediately after the finishing of the surface the pavement shall be covered <br />with a continuous, uniform, water-impermeable coating. <br />The rate of application shall be such as to insure complete coverage and <br />shall not exceed two hundred (200) square feet per gallon of curing <br />compound. <br />The coating shall be sufficiently transparent and free from permanent <br />color to result in no pronounced change in color from that of the <br />natural concrete at the conclusion of the curing period. <br />FINAL SITE GRADING <br />After the concrete paved basketball courts have been constructed and <br />approved, the Contractor shall grade the perimeter of each basketball <br />court a minimum distance of 20 feet to insure proper site drainage. <br />A1so all slopes adjacent to the paved area shall be graded uniformly on <br />all sides and finished approxi.mately 1" below top of concrete pavement. <br />Select material (good top soil) shall be added by the Contractor where <br />reqnired to properly backfill the concrete paved area. <br />The Contractor will be required to grade final drainage swales as indicated, <br />and where shown on the Plans. <br />PAYMENT <br />Payment will be made for two paved basketball courts complete in place <br />where indicated, and approved by the Engineer. The work shall include <br />subgrade preparation, site grading, furnishing all materials, labor, <br />equipment, supervision and other incidentals necessary to complete the <br />work according to the details shown on Plans, and in accordance with the <br />Specifications. <br />Payme nt will be made in one total payment for two concrete paved basketball <br />courts, upon acceptance of the work herein contracted for. <br />CD-'] <br />
