CLEANIDiG ArID CAULY.ING EXTERIOR OPENINGS <br />A. SCOPE: <br />Furnish and install all labor, equipment, and materials <br />necessary to provide a complete watertight installation of <br />all windows, doors, and other exterior openings. <br />B. QUALIFICATION OF WORICMEI3: <br />Only skilled and experienced mechanics, engaged full time <br />in cleaning and caulking exterior type work shall be permitted <br />to do this work. <br />C. COLOR SELECTION: <br />The Contractor shall submit standard color chart of the <br />caulking material to be used to the Engineer for his sel.ection <br />and approval. <br />D. PRODUCT HANDLING: <br />Caulking material shall be delivered to the site in sealed <br />containers with the manufacturer's name and trademark clearly <br />indicated thereon. Each shipment of caulking material shall be <br />accompanied by a statement of the ma.nufacturer certifying that <br />it complies with Federal ar American Standard Specifications. <br />E. D'1ATERIALS : <br />Al1 r,iaterials shall be appZied according to manufacturez's ' <br />printed directions. Al1 materials used in association with <br />caulking shall meet the requirements of manufacturer's printed <br />literature. <br />1. Caulking shall be "Pecora SynthacaZk G.C.-9", or equal <br />quality material approved by the Engineer. <br />F. PREPARATION OF JOINT SURFACE: <br />Remove existing old caulking from the joint around windows, <br />doors, and other exterior openings to be caulked, and thoraughly <br />clean the joint of all dust or other laose or foreign material, <br />preferable with compressed air, for a depth of not less than <br />1/2 inch. <br />TS-4 <br />
