RESOLUTION NO. 1752 0 <br />WHEREAS, an election was held by the qualified voters of the <br />City of Paris, Paris, Texas, on the 3rd day of April, 1976, for the <br />purpose of voting for and electing seven (7) members of the City <br />Council of the City of Paris to serve for one (1) or two (2) years as <br />determined by lot, to-wit: <br />1, <br />Councilman From Ward <br />One (1) <br />2. <br />Councilman From Ward <br />Two (2) <br />3. <br />Councilman From Ward <br />Three (3) <br />4. <br />Councilman From Ward <br />Four (4) <br />5. <br />Councilman From Ward <br />Five (5) <br />6. <br />Councilman From Ward <br />Six (6) <br />7. <br />Courrilman From Ward <br />Seven (7) <br />WHEREAS, as required by Order of the District Court of the <br />United States for the Eastern District of Texas, Paris Division, in <br />Civil Action No. P-75-3-CA, and as provided in the Charter of the <br />City of Paris and the laws of the State of Texas wherein they do not <br />conflict with said Order, such election was conducted and held at <br />seven (7) specified and designated polling places, that is, one polling <br />place in each of the seven (7) wards of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, sealed returns of said election, made by the duly <br />appointed and designated election officials of and for the seven (7) <br />respective voting boxes, have been made to the Mayor and City <br />Council of the City of Paris, as required by law, which returns after <br />due and deliberate review and canvass thereof, show the following <br />results of said election, to-wit: <br />(1) IN WARD ONE (1) A TOTAL OF 312 VOTES WERE CAST <br />FOR COUNCILMAN FROM WARD-UNE (1) AS FOLLOWS: <br />Mrs. A. W. (Dorothy) Clem 79 votes; <br />George Fisher, Jr. 233- votes; <br />Write-In Candidates 7T- votes. <br />(2) <br />(3) <br />IN WARD TWO (2) A TOTAL OF 227 VOTES WERE CAST <br />FOR COUNCILMAN FROM WARD TW 2) AS FOLLOWS: <br />Walter F. Williams <br />W. L. Wells <br />Write-In Candidates <br />198 votes; <br />28 votes; <br />1 votes. <br />IN WARD THREE (3) A TOTAL OF 198 VOTES WERE CAST <br />FOR COUNCILMAN FROM WARD TH=73) AS FOLLOWS: <br />Rollo Watson <br />Jimmy Don Stone <br />Write-In Candidates <br />93 votes; <br />104- votes; <br />1 votes. <br />(4) IN WARD FOUR (4) A TOTAL OF 189 VOTES WERE CAST <br />FOR COUNCILMAN FROM WARD F U t 4) AS FOLLOWS: <br />Ben M. Hinds <br />James F. McFadden <br />Write-In Candidates <br />111 <br />votes; <br />75 <br />votes; <br />3 <br />votes. <br />
