1752 RES ELECTION WAS HELD BY QUALIFIED VOTERS ON 3RD DAY OF APRIL 1976

RESOLUTION NO. 1752 0 WHEREAS, an election was held by the qualified voters of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, on the 3rd day of April, 1976, for the purpose of voting for and electing seven (7) members of the City Council of the City of Paris to serve for one (1) or two (2) years as determined by lot, to-wit: 1, Councilman From Ward One (1) 2. Councilman From Ward Two (2) 3. Councilman From Ward Three (3) 4. Councilman From Ward Four (4) 5. Councilman From Ward Five (5) 6. Councilman From Ward Six (6) 7. Courrilman From Ward Seven (7) WHEREAS, as required by Order of the District Court of the United States for the Eastern District of Texas, Paris Division, in Civil Action No. P-75-3-CA, and as provided in the Charter of the City of Paris and the laws of the State of Texas wherein they do not conflict with said Order, such election was conducted and held at seven (7) specified and designated polling places, that is, one polling place in each of the seven (7) wards of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and, WHEREAS, sealed returns of said election, made by the duly appointed and designated election officials of and for the seven (7) respective voting boxes, have been made to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Paris, as required by law, which returns after due and deliberate review and canvass thereof, show the following results of said election, to-wit: (1) IN WARD ONE (1) A TOTAL OF 312 VOTES WERE CAST FOR COUNCILMAN FROM WARD-UNE (1) AS FOLLOWS: Mrs. A. W. (Dorothy) Clem 79 votes; George Fisher, Jr. 233- votes; Write-In Candidates 7T- votes. (2) (3) IN WARD TWO (2) A TOTAL OF 227 VOTES WERE CAST FOR COUNCILMAN FROM WARD TW 2) AS FOLLOWS: Walter F. Williams W. L. Wells Write-In Candidates 198 votes; 28 votes; 1 votes. IN WARD THREE (3) A TOTAL OF 198 VOTES WERE CAST FOR COUNCILMAN FROM WARD TH=73) AS FOLLOWS: Rollo Watson Jimmy Don Stone Write-In Candidates 93 votes; 104- votes; 1 votes. (4) IN WARD FOUR (4) A TOTAL OF 189 VOTES WERE CAST FOR COUNCILMAN FROM WARD F U t 4) AS FOLLOWS: Ben M. Hinds James F. McFadden Write-In Candidates 111 votes; 75 votes; 3 votes.
