b. Engineer Responsibilities: The Engineer <br />shall render all engineering services necessary to the <br />development and design of the Project, excluding those <br />items listed above, which shall include, but not be <br />limited to the following: <br />(1) Using aerial photographs provided by <br />City, prepare signal layout sheets showing location of <br />signal poles, signal indications, conduit runs, con- <br />troller, power source, etc. <br />(2) Prepare original tracings of wiring <br />diagrams for all installations. <br />(3) Prepare original tracings of signal <br />poles and signal head assemblies. <br />(4) Prepare original tracings showing <br />signal phasing and signal system timing plans. <br />(5) Prepare title sheet, general notes, <br />miscellaneous construction details. <br />(6) Prepare estimates of quantities and <br />cost. <br />(7) Define standard and/or special speci- <br />fications of the Texas Highway Department which are to <br />be used to govern project construction; prepare other <br />specifications or special provisions should they be re- <br />quired. <br />(8) Assemble completed plans as prepared <br />by the joint efforts of City and Engineer. Furnish a <br />reproducible tracing of plans to City for transmittal <br />to the Texas Highway Department. The Eh gineer will in- <br />dicate endorsement of the completed plans by affixing <br />his seal of registration as a professional engineer in <br />Texas. <br />c. Standards: The design standards and cri- <br />teria of the Texas Highway Department will be used in <br />the preparation of design plans and specifications. <br />3. Supervision of Construction: Since the <br />Project is to be bid and construction contract awarded <br />by the Texas Highway Department, construction super- <br />vision will be done by the Texas Highway Department, <br />and the Engineer will not provide any supervision of <br />construction. <br />4. Fee : The City agrees to pay the Angineer, for <br />such design services, an amount equal to three-fourths <br />(3/4) of the Basic Charge (in percent) times the con- <br />tract pxice as shown by the "C" Curve on attached <br />Curves of Median Coznpensation, taken from the 1972 <br />General IIzgineering Services Manual (TSPE, CEC-T, ASCE). <br />Such compensation shall constitute full payment for the <br />services rendered. An amount equal to ei ghty (80) per- <br />cent of the above fee, based on an estimated Project <br />cost, shall become due and payable upon receipt by the <br />
