Meadows <br /> <br />2.05 MISCELLANEOUS MATERIALS: <br /> <br /> A. Joint Primer/Sealer: Provide type of jo'mt primer/sealer recommended by sealant <br /> manufacturer for joint surfaces to be primed or sealed. <br /> <br /> B. Bond Breaker Tape: Provide polyethylene tape or other plastic tape as <br /> recommended by sealant manufacturer, to be applied to sealant-contact <br /> surfaces where bond to substrate or joint f'dler must be avoided for proper <br /> performance of sealant. Provide self- adhesive tape where applicable, <br /> <br /> C. Sealant Backer Rod: Provide compressible rod stock of polyethylene foam, <br /> polyurethane foam, polyethylene jacketed polyurethane foam, butyl rubber foam, <br /> neoprene foam or other flexible permanent, durable non-absorptive material as <br /> recommended by sealant manufacturer for back-up of and compatibility with <br /> sealant. Backer rod shall be placed into joints at minimum 25% compression. <br /> <br />2.06 WOOD CONSOLIDATORS <br /> <br /> A. "Liquid Wood" : Provide carving and shaping tools as necessary to allow an <br /> appropriate work area for consolidant. Install in accordance with manufacturer's <br /> instructions, Abatron, Inc. 1 800445 1754. No substitutions will be considered. <br /> <br /> B. "Wood Epox": Provide carving and shaping tools as necessary to allow an <br /> appropriate work area for consolidant. Install in accordance with manufacturer's <br /> instructions, Abas'on, Inc. 1 800 445 1754. No substitutions will be considered. <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.01 INSPECTION: <br /> <br /> A. Installer shall examine subsWates, (joint surfaces) and conditions under which <br /> jo'mt sealer work is to be performed, and shall notify Architect in writing of <br /> unsatisfactory conditions. Do not proceed with joint sealer work until <br /> unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected in a manner acceptable to <br /> Architect. <br /> <br />3.02 JOINT PREPARATION: <br /> <br /> A. Clean joint surfaces immediately before installation of gaskets, sealants or <br /> caulking compounds. Remove dirt, insecure coatings, moisture and other <br /> substances which could interfere with seal of gasket or bond of sealant or <br /> caulking compound. Etch concrete and masonry joint surfaces as <br /> recommended by sealant manufacturer. Roughen vitreous and glazed joint <br /> surfaces as recommended by sealant manufacturer. <br /> <br /> B. Prime or seal joint surfaces where indicated, and where recommended by sealant <br /> manufacturer. Confine primer/sealer to areas of sealant bond; do not allow <br /> spillage or migration onto adjoining surfaces. <br /> <br /> Section 07900 <br /> Page 3-5 <br /> <br /> <br />
