Paris Santa Fe-Frisco Depot Rehabilitation © KEYSTONE ARCHIT[CTS <br /> July 10, 2001 <br /> <br />SECTION 09900 PAINTING <br />SECTION 09900: PAINTING <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> <br />1.01 DESCRIPTION OF WORK: <br /> <br /> A. Work Included: <br /> <br /> I. Extent of painting work is described on drawings and as herein <br /> specified. <br /> <br /> 2. The work includes surface preparation, painting and finishing of all new and <br /> existing interior and exterior exposed elements and surfaces throughout <br /> project, except as otherwise indicated. <br /> <br /> a. All work described in this Section must be performed to the highest <br /> historic restoration standards and techniques applicable. <br /> <br /> b. In addition to the surface preparation, all palming and coats of paint <br /> specified are in addition to the shop-priming and surface treatment <br /> work specified under other sections of work. <br /> <br /> 3. The work includes field painting of exposed bare and covered pipes and <br /> ducts, and of hangers, exposed steel and iron work, and primed metal <br /> surfaces of equipment installed under mechanical and electrical <br /> work. <br /> <br /> 4. "Paint" as used herein means all coating systems materials, including <br /> primers, emulsions, enamels, stains, sealers and fillers, and other <br /> applied materials whether used as pdme, intermediate or finish <br /> coats. <br /> <br /> 5. Paint exposed surfaces whether or not colors are designated in <br /> "schedules", except where natural finish of material is specifically <br /> noted as a surface not to be painted. Where items or surfaces are not <br /> specifically mentioned, paint same as adjacent similar materials or <br /> areas. If color or finish is not designated, Architect will select these <br /> from standard colors available for materials systems specified. <br /> <br /> 6. The work includes cleaning of ail interior painted or stained surfaces <br /> whether or not they are scheduled to receive paint. <br /> <br /> 7. The work does not include the removal of lead based paint. Imad based <br /> paint removal will be executed by an independent hazardous materials <br /> abatement contxactor. Contact the Owner for further details. All <br /> Contractors, their employees and agents shall make themselves familiar with <br /> which materials in the building have been identified as hazardous materials <br /> and take appropriate precautions to avoid exposure to these materials. If in <br /> the course of work, materials are uncovered which are suspected of <br /> containing hazardous materials, Contractor shall report same immediately to <br /> Owner.
