Deliver materials to job site in original, new and unopened packages and containers <br /> bearing manufacturer's name and label. <br /> <br /> B. Deliver and store materials only in areas designated; provide protection for walls <br /> and floors. <br /> <br />1.04 JOB CONDITIONS: <br /> <br /> A. Do not apply paint/stain in rain or mist; or when relative humidity exceeds 85%; <br /> or to damp or wet surfaces; unless otherwise permitted by paint manufacturer's <br /> printed instructions. <br /> <br /> B. Painting may be continued during inclement weather if areas and surfaces to be <br /> painted are enclosed and heated or cooled within temperature and humidity <br /> limits specified by paint manufacturer during application and drying periods. <br /> <br /> C. Do not apply stain unless in clean and dry condition. Surfaces should be brushed <br /> to remove all loose wood fibers and dust. <br /> <br /> D. Do not paint interior plaster wails and ceilings until plaster is completely cured, not <br /> less than three weeks after completion of plaster work. <br /> <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.01 COLORS AND FINISHES: <br /> <br /> A. Paint colors, surface treatments, and finishes, are specified herein.. <br /> <br /> B. Color Pigments: Pure, non-fading, applicable types to suit substrates and service <br /> indicated. No lead pigments, colorants or masking agents are allowed. <br /> <br /> C. Paint Coordination: Provide finish coats which are compatible with prime paints <br /> used. Review other sections of this Project Manual in which prime paints are <br /> to be provided to ensure compatibility of total coatings system for various <br /> substrates. Upon request from other trades, furnish information on <br /> characteristics of finish materials proposed for use, to ensure compatible prime <br /> coats are used. Provide barrier coats over incompatible palmers or remove <br /> and re-prime as required. Notify Construct, ion Manager in writing of any <br /> anticipated problems using specified coating s5 stems with substrates primed by <br /> others. <br /> <br /> D. Weathered Wood Rejuvenation: A field prepared solution of 24 oz exterior varnish, <br /> 1 oz paraffin wax and enough mineral spirits to make l gallon of solution. <br /> <br />2.02 MATERIAL QUALITY: <br /> <br /> A. Provide best quality grade of various types of p:fints coatings as manufactured for <br /> historic buildings by Sherwin Williams, Devoe, Olympic or other manufacturers <br /> acceptable to Architect.
