Materials not displaying <br /> manufacturer's identification as a standard, best-grade product will not be <br /> acceptable. <br /> <br /> B. Provide undercoat primer paint produced by same manufacturer as finish coats. Use <br /> only thinners approved by paint manufacturer, and use only within <br /> recommended limits. <br /> <br /> C. Fungus and Algae Control: A standard commercial mildewcide shall be added to <br /> all paints finishes during the manufacturing process for the particular paint. <br /> The fungicide shall be incorporated into the paint in a quantity so that the paint <br /> meets the fungus resistance test specified in Fed. Spec. TT-P-19 or Fed. <br /> Spec. TI'-P-29, for exterior and interior paints respectively. <br /> <br /> D. Use high quality cleaners for removal of all dirt, grime, debris, mildew and other <br /> water damage. Use TSP wash for removal of mildew. No power washing will be <br /> allowed. <br /> <br /> E. Cleaning: Clean all interior surfaces by hand. No pressure washing will be <br /> allowed. Mechanical means of cleaning will not be allowed unless approved by <br /> Architect. Do not apply more water or liquid than is necessary to clean <br /> surfaces. Do not flood surfaces or allow water or liquid to stand. Do not <br /> damage surfaces, materials or furnishings with inappropriate cleaners or <br /> excessive moisture exposure. Thoroughly clean all surfaces, walls, floors, <br /> furnishings, windows, doors, etc. to remove all dirt, grime, debris, mildew, etc. <br /> by gentlest means possible. <br /> <br />2.03 PAINT SYSTEMS: <br /> <br />See PART 4 - PAINTING SCHEDULE for paint systems required for specific exterior <br />and interior building materials. <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.01 INSPECTION: <br /> <br /> A. Applicator must examine areas and conditions under which painting workis to be <br /> applied and notify Construction Manager in xvriting of conditions <br /> detrimental to proper and timely completion of work. Do not proceed with <br /> work until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected in a manner <br /> acceptable to Construction Manager. <br /> <br /> B. Starting of painting work will be construed as Applicator's acceptance of surfaces <br /> and conditions within any particular area. <br /> <br /> C. All existlng surfaces must be classified by Contractor according to Existing Surface <br /> Condition prior to commencement of work and such classification approved by the <br /> Construction Manager prior to commencement of work.
