MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING AND <br />ZONING COMMISSION <br />AUGUST 6, 2001 <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission met Monday, August 6, 2001, 5:30 <br />P.M., Paris Junior College, Applied Technology Building, Room 1016, 2400 <br />Clarksville Street, Paris, Texas with the following members present: <br />1. <br />Reeves Hayter <br />6. <br />Louis Yates <br />2. <br />Vincent Battles <br />7. <br />Marshall Kent <br />3. <br />Barbara Forrest <br />8. <br />Bill Coleman <br />4. <br />Eddie Vincent <br />9. <br />Curtis Fendley <br />5. <br />Bobby Myers <br />Steve Methven, the building official was also present. <br />The meeting was called to order by Reeves Hayter. <br />1. The minutes from the July 2, 2001, regular planning and zoning <br />meeting were approved with a motion by Curtis Fendley and seconded <br />by Vincent Battles. Motion carried by a vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />2. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Kenny Kammer for a change <br />in zoning from a Two-Family Dwelling District (2F) to a General Retail <br />District (GR), Lots 4, 5, 6,18, 19, 20 and part of Lots 3 and 17, Block I, <br />Warren Addition. <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br />Kenny Kammer, 6625 Pecan Place, Paris, spoke in favor of the petition <br />stating that he wants to purchase the property for future investment. <br />There is one dilapidated house that would have to be torn down. In the <br />future, Mr. Kammer would like to build an Assisted Living Home or a <br />Retirement Center. The lot is under contract providing that he gets <br />zoning and the alley closed. <br />There was no opposition, the public hearing was declared closed. <br />
