905 RES ORDERING ELECTION TO BE HELD ON FIRST TUESDAY IN APRIL 1960

The Presiding Judge of the respective voting boxes sha,ll designate and appoint such additional, competent and qualified clerks for such respective polling places and voting boxes as may be required, if any, for the efficient conduct of said election. Section 4. Such election shall be held in accordance with the laws of the Sta.te of Texa.s governing general and municipal elections, insofa.r as the same ma.y be applicable, and with the provisions of the City Charter and Ordinances of the City of Paris. Section 5. The Chief of Police of the City of Pa.ris is hereby directed and instructed to post a properly executed Notice of Election pursuant to this order for election, signed by the Mayor of the City of Paris, at each of the polling places designated above, which said notices of election shall by him be posted not less tha.n thirty (30~ days prior to said election; further, a properly executed copy of such Notice of Election shall be published one tirne in the Paris News, the official newspaper of the City of Paris and a newspaper of general circulation in said City, which notice shall be published not less than twenty (20) days before said election. Section 6. The pay of the judges and clerks of said electi.on is hereby authorized and established as follows; $8.00 per day for each judge and clerk; the election judge who delivers the returns of the said election irnme- diately after the votes have been counted to the proper office shall be paid an additional sum of $2. 00 for that service, provided also, he shall make return of all election supplies not used when he makes returns of such election.
