City Council Meeting <br />September 10, 2001 <br />Page 13 <br /> <br />Mayor Pfiester announced that the next item on the agenda was for the City <br />Council to provide additional direction to city staff and clarification on the fee <br />for rental hangars, including fees for the new T-Hangars. <br /> <br />Tommy Haynes, Director of Community Development, came forward <br />explaining that he felt that the new T-Hangars should fall into the price range <br />of $125.00 for the hangars that fall in the square footage of 1,008, and for the <br />hangars that have square footage of 1,134 the cost should be $140.00. City <br />Manager Malone said the fee for the open hangars would be $55.00, the <br />hangars under A of the schedule would be $110.00, item B of the schedule <br />would be $125.00, and item C of the schedule would be $150.00. <br /> <br />Vic Ressler came forward advising that there are six, old hangars at the airport <br />that do not have electric doors or doors that lock. He said originally they rented <br />for $85.00 and the Airport Advisory Board has recommended that the rent be <br />increase to $95.00. The schedule shows a vote by the City Council for the fee <br />to be $110.00. Mr. Ressler stated that the City Council may not have known <br />that these six hangars were a different size along with being old. Mr. Ressler <br />said it was his recommendation that these hangars rent for $90.00 a month. <br /> <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman McCarthy that rent for <br />Category A be reduced from $110.00 to $100.00 per month, for Category B the <br />rental fee change from $100.00 to $125.00 per month, for Category C the <br />hangar rental fee be set for $150.00 per month; and the new T-hangars with <br />square footage of 1,008 be set for $125.00 a month, and the ones with a square <br />footage of 1,134 be set at $140.00 per month. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Plata and carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br /> <br />Mayor Pfiester called for consideration of and action on directing the City <br />Manager and City Attorney to negotiate an agreement with StarNet Online <br />Systems for non-exclusive use of the City's water tower for the placement of <br />antennas. <br /> <br /> <br />
