City Attorney Schenk said as a result of adding these <br />other properties, the city must send new notices and have a second public <br />hearing in November. This will not slow the project down, because the City <br />Council is being asked tonight to authorize city staff to acquire the easements. <br />City Attorney Schenk further advised that the residents will receive another <br />letter with a revised cost in it based on adding the additional lots. City <br />Attorney Schenk explained the city's policy for the payment of assessments. <br />A prior resolution that was adopted said assessments are to be paid over a <br />maximum of a seven-year period of time with zero percent interest if it is <br />timely paid with a minimum payment of $25.00 per month. <br />James Wright, 4435 Pine Mill Road, came forward stating that at the present <br />time he is on county water, and wanted to know if the City of Paris was buying <br />out Lamar County Water Supply in that area. <br />City Manager Malone advised that the city is going to try to acquire all of the <br />water lines that are within the city limits of the City of Paris, and city staff is <br />presently working with Lamar County Water Supply to try to get this issue <br />worked out. <br />No one else appeared, and the public hearing was declared closed. <br />Mayor Pfiester called for consideration of and action on an ordinance levying <br />assessments on benefitted property for a portion of the cost of the expansion of <br />the sanitary sewer line extension for the Cope Addition, Suburban Estates <br />Addition, Golden Acre Addition, and certain tracts in the E. Crow Survey along <br />Meadowlark Street, Mockingbird Street, Cope Street, Pine Mill Road, Thomas <br />Drive, and Welch Circle, and authorizing the City Manager to proceed with the <br />proj ect. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman McCarthy, seconded by <br />Mayor Pro Tem Manning, to table action on the ordinance.
