A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 2001-183 AND AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR ONE (1) MODEL YEAR 2002, 4-WHEEL DRIVE BACKHOE/LOADER FOR USE IN THE WATER AND SEWER DIVISIONS OF THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 12th day of November, 2001, in Resolution No. 2001-183, authorize the City Manager to execute a purchase order to the Houston-Galveston Area Council of Governments (HGAC) for one (1) Model Year 2002, 4-Wheel Drive Backhoe/Loader for use in the Water and Sewer Divisions of the Public Works Department; and, WHEREAS, after said purchase was approved, the HGAC revised its vendor specifications and bids for said equipment, and said revisions failed to meet the City's minimum specifications; therefore, it is deemed appropriate that the City repeal said Resolution No. 2001-183 and advertise for bids for the purchase of said equipment; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That Resolution No. 2001-183, passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Paris on November 12, 2001, be, and the same is hereby, repealed. Section 3. That the purchase of one (1) Model Year 2002, 4-Wheel Drive Backhoe/Loader for use in the Water and Sewer Divisions of the Public Works Department be advertised for bids to be received after due notice at the office of the City Manager of the City of Paris, City Hall, 135 1 st Street S.E., Paris, Texas 75460, unti13:00 o'clock p.m. on the 8th day of January, 2002, at which time said bids will be opened, tabulated, and then presented to the City Council for the purpose of letting such bid. Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
