OWNER shall provide engineering surveys to estab- <br />lish reference poin[s for construction which in ENGINEER's <br />judgment are necessary [o enable CONTRACTOR to proceed <br />with [he Work. CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for lay- <br />ing out the Work (unless otherwise specified in the General <br />Requirements), shall protect and preserve the es[ablished <br />reference poin[s and shal( make no changes or relocations <br />without the prior written approval of OWNER. CONTRAC- <br />TOR shall repoR to ENGINEER whenever any reference <br />point is lost or destroyed or requ'ves relocation because of <br />necessary changes in gmdes or locations, and shall be respon- <br />sible for the accurate replacement or relocation of such ref- <br />erence points by professionally qualified personnel. <br />AR'fICLE 5-BONDS AND INSURANCE <br />Perjormance and O[herBonds: <br />5.1. CONTRACTOR shall furnish performance and pay- <br />ment Bonds, each in an amount at least equal to the Contract <br />Price as security for the faithfut performance and paymen[ of <br />all CONTRACTOR's obligations under [he Contract Docu- <br />men[s. These Bonds shall remain in ellec[ a[ least until one <br />year after the date when final payment becomes due, excep[ <br />as otherwise provided by Law or Regutation or by the Con- <br />trac[ Documents. CONTRACTOR shall also fumish such <br />other Bonds as are required by [he Supplementary Condi- <br />tions. All Bonds shall be in [he forms prescribed by I.aw or <br />Regulation or by the Contract Documents and be executed <br />by such sureties as are named in the cucrent list of "Com- <br />panies I-Iolding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Sure- <br />ties on Federal Bonds and as Acceptable Reinsuring Com- <br />panies" as published in Circular 570 (amended) by the Audit <br />Staff Bureau of Accaunts, U.S. Treasury Department. All <br />Bonds signed by an agent must be accompanied by a certified <br />copy of the authority to act. <br />5.2. If the surety on any Bond furnished by CONTRAC- <br />TOR is declared a bankrupt or becomes insolvent or its right <br />to do business is [erminated in any state where any part of <br />41 <br />
