Systems including a y additional excavation and backfill requir- <br />ed, for furnishing, placing, maintaining and removing all Shor- <br />ing, Sheeting, or B acing; for dewatering or diversion of water; <br />for all jacking and jack removal; and for all other labor, <br />materials, tools, e uipment and incidentals necessary to complete <br />the work. <br />SC 9.3 <br />Delete paragraph 9. of the General Conditions and insert the <br />following in its pl ce: <br />ENGINEER shall furn'sh assistants and other field staff to assist <br />ENGINEER in observi g performance of the Work of tfie CONTRACTOR. <br />Through more extensive on-site observations of the Work in <br />progress and field checks of materials and equipment by the RPR <br />and assistants, EN INEER shall endeavor to provide further <br />protection Tor OWN R against defects and deficiencies in the <br />Work; but, the fur ishing of such services w.ill not make ENGINEER <br />responsible for or give ENGINEER control over construction means, <br />methods, technique , sequences or procedures or for safety <br />precautions or pro rams, or responsibility for CONTRACTOR's <br />failure to perform the Work in accordance with the Contract <br />Documents. <br />The duties and res onsibilities of the RPR are limited and <br />described as follo s: <br />A. General <br />RPR is ENGINE R's agent at the site, will act as directed by <br />and under the supervision of ENGINEER, and will confer with <br />ENGINEER rega ding RPR's actions. RPR's dealings in matters <br />pertaining to the on-site work shall in general be with <br />ENGINEER and ONTRACTOR keeping OWNER advised as necessary. <br />RPR's dealing with subcontractors shall on7y be through or <br />with the full knowledge and approval of CONTRACTOR. <br />Duties and R sponsibilities of RPR - <br />1. Schedul s: Review the progress schedule, schedule of <br />Shop Dr wing submittals and schedule of values prepared <br />by CONT ACTOR and consult with ENGINEER concerning <br />accepta iTity. <br />2. Confere ces and Meetings: Attend meetings with oOress <br />TRACTOR such as preconstruction conferences, pr9 <br />meetin9 , job conferences and other projected meetings, <br />and cir ulate copies of minutes thereof. <br />10 <br />
