Ch III-1 Computer Resources & Services f I11. Computer Resources & Services We have pioneered technological innovations in delinquent tax collection processes for more than 25 yeazs. As a major high technology employer, we provide data processing and other computer resources to governmental entities throughout Texas. Our representation of the lazgest taxing jurisdictions in Texas has led us to invest millions of dollazs in the most advanced data processing and communication technologies in the business. This investment has enabled us to develop softwaze applications that meet the changing needs of the tax collection process. Proprietary Software Recognizing our clients' growing needs for sophisticated softwaze applications, we directed our systems designers and computer programmers to develop specialized applications, using the latest technology to meet specific client needs. The result has been the development of several proprietary softwaze systems specially designed to support all aspects of delinquent tax collection, including mailings, reseazch, litigation, bankruptcy, and taxpayer assistance. Our computers can process payments, corrections, and updates to the delinquent tax database as often as our clients desire, whether it is daily, weekly, or monthly. This computer system also provides code activity updates for the tax office database on a weekly basis, or at other intervals as specified by city personnel. Our softwaze is designed to combine multiple accounts into a single statement for your taxpayers. Delinquent Tax Collection Support Systems The design of our delinquent taat collection support softwaze is predicated on the belief that the ultimate repository of all tax information is and should be the tax records of the taxing jurisdiction. Therefore, no attempt is made within this system to pazallel the dynamic file maintained by the jurisdiction unless we aze asked to do so. Rather, the delinquent tax collection support system is updated when periodic copies of the jurisdiction's current files are received. With our clients' permission, we will install modems in their tax offices to assure that their taxpayer assistance clerks and legal assistants have immediate access to the latest records of payments and adjustments. Our data processing system retains a complete history of all collection activities related to each delinquent account.
