City Council Minutes <br />September 13, 2000 <br />Page 3 <br />be conducted by the City Council tonight here at this building. <br />City Manager Malone said the nature of the proposed amendments are as <br />follows: <br />In the Police Department's Budget, the purpose of the proposed budget <br />amendment is to retain two (2) positions currently vacant in the Police <br />Department by reducing budgeted overtime. The additional $42,000.00 needed <br />to pay salaries and benefits for the two (2) police officers will come from an <br />existing or future law enforcement grant. The $15,000.00 needed for these organizations will <br />be taken from the contingency appropriations.
