Special Budget Wark Session - City Council <br />August 30, 2000 <br />Page 9 <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Carter, seconded by <br />Councilman Bell, to approve the request of Karl Louis, Police Chief, to cut the <br />over time of the Police Department's budget by $40,000.00, and increase the <br />personnel cost by $40,000.00. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman Carter, to <br />include the $10,000.00 in support of the Children's Advocacy Center, and <br />$5,000.00 to support NETCADA in the budget for year 2000-2001. The <br />motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2000-126, calling a public hearing for the 13th day of <br />September, 2000, at 6:00 P. M. at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds in <br />Building B, 1750 6th N. E., for the purpose of hearing written and oral <br />comments from the citizens of the City of Paris concerning proposed <br />amendments to the City Manager's proposed annual budget for fiscal year <br />beginning October 1, 2000, and ending September 30, 2001, was presented. <br />A motion was made by Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem <br />Manning, for approval of the resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />A motion was made by Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman <br />Carter, that the work sessions scheduled for August 31, 2000, and September <br />1, 2000 be cancelled. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />There being no further business, a motion was made by Councilman McCarthy, <br />seconded by Councilman Bell, to adjourn the meeting. <br />MICHAEL J.
