Mr. Margraves said his wish <br />list would be to have a four-field complex designed and built specifically with <br />youth in mind. He pointed out the need to have separate facilities to support <br />each age group, and urged the City Council to have separate facilities for youth <br />and adults. <br />Tommy Duncan, 2890 Clark Lane, came forward telling the City Council that this <br />is a dream come true for him. Mr. Duncan said he has worked with kids for 51 <br />years and the city needs this facility for the youth along with the adults. Mr. <br />Duncan said the revenue from the facility could put money back into the <br />development. <br />Steve Coker, 935 Fairway, came forward advising the City Council that he works <br />with Terry Townsend and Sally Wright in regard to the adult softball leagues in <br />the City. Mr. Coker said there are 70 teams, which is about 2,500 people and <br />they play at Wise Field. Mr. Coker said they hope every year that the city will <br />build a sports complex. Mr. Coker said he has information on design for fields, <br />concession stands and he would like to help anyway that he could to see that <br />this comes to pass. <br />Rick Hodges, Route 1, Box 422, was present, stating that he was a coach for <br />youth of all ages and men's baseball, and would like to see a sports complex <br />built in the City of Paris. Mr. Hodges also pointed out the amount of money this <br />would bring to the city. Mr. Hodges also expressed concern for the safety of <br />participants at present facilities that lack adequate parking and noted that the <br />safety aspect of a sports complex which would have adequate parking for <br />families with small children with no need to park on the sides of the streets. <br />Phillip Coker,1310 S. E.18t" Street, appeared before the City Council telling them <br />that he has coached and played baseball, and he would guarantee the City <br />Council that a sports complex would generate revenue to support itself with <br />money left over for additional fields for fastball, select teams, eightball, <br />playground equipment and other things. He said this would put Paris, Texas on <br />the map. <br />Bard Coe, 3011 Lamar Ave, came forward stating that he was an advocate of <br />youth recreation programs and felt like a sports complex would be one of the <br />biggest assets the city could have. Mr. Coe said the city's facilities currently do <br />not have restrooms, parking, or concessions, and are located in diverse areas <br />throughout the town. Mr. Coe said a nice clean sports complex will work. <br />Felix Stephens, Route 1, Box 149, was present stating that he was in support of <br />
