MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL February 8, 2001 The City Council of the City of Paris met in regularsession Thursday, February 8, 2001, 6:00 P. M., Paris Junior College, Applied Technology Building, Room 1016, 2400 Clarksville Street, Paris, Texas. Mayor Michael Pfiester called the meeting to order with the following Council Members present: John F. Bell, Richard Manning, Joe E. McCarthy, John A. Carter, Jr., Kevin Gray, and Benny Plata. Also present were City Manager Michael E. Malone, City Attorney Larry W. Schenk, and City Clerk Mattie Cunningham. City Manager Malone presented the minutes of the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting held February 5, 2001, and attached hereto as Exhibit A to these minutes. City Manager Malone reported that there were two items on the Planning and Zoning Commission's agenda. One was a public hearing to consider the petition of Tammie Green for a change in zoning from a Two-Family Dwelling District (2F) to a One-Family Dwelling District No. 3(SF-3) With Specific Use Permit (39) Mobile homes, Lot 34, City Block 160, located at 1117 3rd SE. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of this petition with a vote of 6 ayes, 1 nay. City Manager Malone advised the City Council that the second matter that the Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed was a petition for Mr. J. R. Lane for a change in zoning from Agricultural District (A) to a Multiple-Family Dwelling District No. 1(MF-1) located in the 500 block of 19t" SW. City Manager Malone said the city had received a letter that the petition has been withdrawn, so there will be no need to have a public hearing or action on Items 5 and 6, which relates to the petition for Multiple-Family zoning. Jerry Higgler, 849 4t" S. W., came forward and requested that everyone in the audience who was present opposing this zoning change be allowed to stand. Mayor Pfiester asked those in opposition to the request to stand and be noticed. Mayor Pfiester declared the public hearing open on the petition of Tammy Green for a change in zoning from a Two-Family Dwelling District (2F) to a One-Family Dwelling District No. 3(SF-3) With Specific Use Permit (39) Mobile Homes, on Lot 34, City Block 160, being number 1117 3rd SE.
