City Council Meeting <br />February 8, 2001 <br />Page 2 <br />Mayor Pfiester called for proponents to appear, and Tammy Green with Quality <br />Homes, 300 N. E. Loop 286, appeared before the City Council representing Mr. <br />Patterson requesting the zoning change. Ms. Green said there are <br />manufactured homes in the area and asked for the City Council's <br />consideration in this matter. <br />Mayor Pfiester called for opponents to appear, none appeared, and the public <br />hearing was declared closed. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2001-002 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY <br />THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A ONE-FAMILY DWELLING <br />DISTRICT NO. 3(sf-3) WITH SPECIFIC USE PERMIT (39) MOBILE HOMES ON <br />LOT 34, CITY BLOCK 160, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO JAMES <br />PATTERSON ON BEHALF OF TAMMIE GREEN, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN <br />TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A TWO-FAMILY DWELLING <br />DISTRICT (2f); DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE ONE-FAMILY <br />DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 3(sf-4) WITH SPECIFIC USE PERMIT (39) MOBILE <br />HOMES SO ESTABLISHED; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED <br />$2,000.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN <br />CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MARCH 1, <br />2001, WAS PRESENTED. <br />A motion was made by Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem <br />Manning, for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Pfiester declared the Public Hearing open to provide for citizen input, <br />comments, and ideas for the potential uses of the old U. S. Post Office <br />Building in Paris, Texas. <br />Mayor Pfiester stated that the Postal Service has offered this property to the <br />City of Paris for $559,000.00. <br />Paul Denney, 2435 Clark Lane, came forward stating that his concern is that <br />many of the governmental agencies in the lastseveral years have made a flight <br />out of the downtown area.
