Main Street Advisory Board <br />Regular Meeting Tuesday, October 16, 2012 <br />City Council Chambers 106 E Kaufman, Paris, TX 75460 <br />Meeting called to order at 4:03pm by Chairman Matt Coyle. <br />Roll call by Jeanna Scott filling in for Main Street Manager Cheri Bedford <br />Present: Casey Ressler, Matt Coyle, Britin Bostick, Jill Drake, Fred Green, Becky Semple and Jeanna Scott <br />Absent: Karie Raulston, Ashlea Mattoon <br />September minutes were approved as presented, motion made by Casey, seconded by Jill. <br />Main Street Manager's Report (read by Matt Coyle in Cheri's absence): <br />• Festival of Pumpkins has 82 vendors currently. Info is on website and board members need <br />to help spread the word about streets being closed Friday night through Saturday night. The <br />Main Street booth will be on the southeast corner of the Plaza and will serve as info central. <br />Volunteers can sign up with Casey. Maps of vendors, prizes and lost kids will be located at <br />this booth. Matt Coyle and Paul Denney will guide tours of the Grand Theater. Get your shirt <br />size to Jeanna for Festival t-shirt. Zombie Walk will be at the YWCA. Charlie Robison will play <br />a concert at Bywaters afterward with Uncle Lucius as the opener. There will be camel rides, <br />games, a labyrinth — spread the word! <br />• Christmas Tree Lighting November 10th. Thanks to Paris Area Art Alliance, Turner Pipe, Parks <br />& Rec and Main Street for making the 30 foot tree happen. There will be carolers and other <br />fun stuff going on that evening. <br />• Matt is going to training in Wichita Falls November 6-7 so let him know if you want to go <br />also. <br />• New business — Ewe...nique Creations of Paris. Furniture on the Plaza has closed. <br />• We need to update the Downtown Map <br />• TMSP report is in the packet and covers the visit by Leslie Wolfenden. <br />Committee Reports: <br />Organization — Casey reported on Main Street tent for Festival of Pumpkins. Jill and Britin have <br />offered to be there for the day. Casey will send out an email about that. <br />Design — No report as Karie was absent. <br />Promotions — Britin reported on the progress of the pumpkin patch. As of close of day Monday 679 <br />pumpkins had been sold with total sales of $2,530 and a profit to Main Street of $632.50. Another <br />truckload will be delivered at noon on Sunday October 21 so all hands on deck! Half of pumpkins sold <br />are $1 pumpkins and decorating has been very popular. Funds will go toward downtown Christmas <br />decorations and hopefully a light show at Bywaters Park next year. Downtown Trick or Treat will be <br />on October 315Y from 5 till the candy runs out. Main Street has been asked to split $175 in advertising <br />costs with PDA. Dog Dash will be Saturday, December 8t" at 10:00 am at the courthouse. This year <br />we are looking to have the race timed and will provide long-sleeved shirts, Santa, red carpet, etc. We <br />need volunteers for directing runners on the course. Wassailfest will be the same day from 1-4pm <br />and businesses will provide their own Wassail for tasting. Voters must go to several stores for their <br />ballot to count, and we are trying to get a large basket together as a prize for the ballot drawn. <br />-- 22 <br />
