City Council Minutes <br />January 14, 2002 <br />Page 16 <br />Asphalt Type "F" (Fine Mixture, Material for use in the Street Division of the <br />Public Works Department, and authorizing the advertisement for bids to be <br />received after due notice at the office of the City Manager of the City of Paris, <br />City Hall, 135 lst Street SE until 3:00 o'clock P.M. on Tuesday, February 5, <br />2002, at which time said bids will be opened in the City Council Chamber, and <br />bids will be tabulated and presented to the City Council for the purpose of <br />letting such bid, was presented. A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem <br />Manning, seconded by Councilman Gray, for approval of the resolution. The <br />motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2002-020, accepting a grant on behalf of the City of Paris <br />Police Department to fund an Offender Tracking Task Officer for participation <br />in the Comprehensive Approaches to Sex Offender Management Program <br />pursuant to a grant from the U. S. Department of Justice to the Lamar County <br />Community Supervision Correction Department, was presented. A motion was <br />made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, for approval <br />of the resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2002-021, affirming that the city of Paris has complied with the <br />requirement of the Public Funds Investment Act; amending the City's <br />investment policy; and making other findings and provision related to the <br />subject; and providing an effective date, was presented. A motion was made <br />by Councilman Bell, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Manning, for approval of <br />the resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2002-022, referring a request from Lamar County, the adj acent <br />property owner, to the Planning and Zoning Commission for the abandonment <br />of a portion of a forty (40) foot street known as W. Price Street in City Block <br />41 between N. Main Street (U. S. Hwy 271) and 1 st Street NW beginning at the <br />west boundary line of N. Main Street going west to the east boundary line of <br />1 st Street NW.; setting public hearings; making other findings and provisions <br />related to the subject; and providing an effective date, was presented. <br />
