Proposa/
Comprehensive Water Distribution System Auclit
Bridge and lake Fark Pump Stations. Services provided on
this projed included hydraulic analysis and design, surge
analysis and design, physical inspections, computer nelwork
modeling, and analysis af C-value protection and biofilm
confrol.
Puerto Rico North
Coast Superaquaduct
Pipeline
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Carter 8 Burgess participated in the design of 50-miles of
12-inch water transmission main to deliver treated water
across the island of Puerto Rico. This project included an
alignment study through developed areas and rural areas
along a major divided highway. Corter&Burgesswosalso
responsible for preparation of plan and profile sheets and
detail sheets, which included highwoy crossings and
construction along extremelysieep terrain.
Southside 11 Water
Transmission Main
Fort Worth, Texas
Carfer 8 Burgess provided surveying and engineering
servicesforthisprojed,whichincluded atotalofbmilesof
pipeline of 35-inch ond 48-inch water transmission main.
Survey tasks included setting controls, alignment and
topographic surveys, and preparafion of right-of-woy and
easementdocuments. The line conveys water from the near
narth side of Fort Worth north to new developing areas.
The water line crosses severol creeks, ezisting roads and
ezisting utilities. Design of the line included a hydraulic
model and alternative route studies to determine the most
cost-effective raute, detailed design, preparation of
construction plans and specifications, advertising and bidding
servicesandconstrudionmanagementservices. Theprojed
involued construction sequencing and phasing to
accommodate the improvement of a 2-lane counry rood to
a 4-lane divided tharoughfare.
Carter i-Burgess
Fort Worth Northside II
Water Transmission
Main Design
Fort Worth, Texas
(ader & Burgess provided surveying and engineering
services for 6.5 miles oF 48- and 36-inch diameter woter
tronsmission main. The water line ronveyswater from the
near north side of fart
Worth, north to new
developing areas. The
water line crosses
severol creeks, existing
roads and utilities. The
projed alsa induded
designing a 24-inch
Venturi meter station,
yard piping and meter
vault to meter flaw
being pumped from the North Beach Street Pump Station
inta the Northside II Pressure Plane. Construdion daumenis
were prepared in phases in order ta ezpedite construction
since rights-of-way for same seUions of the new pipeline
were more readily available. The survey for the water line
induded setting control from USGS monuments, alignment
and topographic surveys, and preparation of right-of-woy
and easementdacuments. All field notes were reduced and
plotted using Intergraph sohware and hardware. Design of
the pipeline included a detoi led transient analysis, access
roods, alternative route studies to determine the most mst-
effedive route, detailed design, preparation of construction
plans and spe<ifications, advertising ond bidding services,
and construction managementservices.
East Canyon
Microfiltration Water
Treatment Plant
Summit County, Utah
(arter 8 Burgess is providing consulting services as District
Engineer to develop and implement master plans.
