He shared with us that immediate needs were rearranging <br />furniture to create space, adding additional shelving, establishing a <br />planning committee, and upgrading the automation system to a Windows <br />version. Short-term needs would be to develop a master plan and possibly <br />hire a consultant to help find funding sources for a new facility. The long- <br />term need would be to create a new facility. He will provide the Board <br />with a written report. <br />In unfinished business, Betty Landon stated that she had found a website <br />with a feature called Authors on the Highway which might help us find an <br />author to bring to Paris. <br />Friends of the Library President, Callie Thompson, reported that they are <br />working on the May 6`h luncheon at the Paris Golf and Country Club. <br />Flyers will be sent out on April 12`h and an article will appear in the Paris <br />News concerning the luncheon. <br />Betty Landon stated that we are going to place the library website address <br />on library cards. Betty and Priscilla attended the Public Library <br />Conference in Phoenix last week. They attended several meetings, met <br />with vendors and came back with some great ideas. They also looked at <br />new automation systems at the exhibits. Betty is beginning to work on next <br />year's budget. She stated that she will ask for 2 additional phone lines. <br />Betty also handed out a Paris Public Library brochure in Spanish. <br />At the close of the meeting, Fran Neeley stated that she may be resigning <br />from the Library Board because she is running for District 6 City Council <br />seat. <br />The meeting adjourned at 5:15 p.m. The next meeting will be held on <br />April 17"' at 4:00 p.m. in the Gallery. <br />Anna Davis Date Approved <br />
