Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />January 16, 2013 <br />Opening: <br />The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:00 p.m. <br />Present: <br />Board members presents were Hilda Mallory, Pat Books, Alice Woodard, Linda Vandiver, Fran <br />Neeley, Ann Norment, and Library Director Priscilla McAnally. <br />I. Approval of Minutes <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved as presented. <br />II. New Business <br />Board Chair Linda Vandiver attended a special meeting for all city boards' repesentatives <br />requested by and chaired by Mayor Hashmi. The purpose was to discuss effective operation <br />of the various boards. <br />III. Old Business <br />A. No old business was present. <br />IV. Presentations <br />A. Budget Report: <br />A balance of $58,591 remains in the Media-Books category. The Director will review <br />collections and determine where replacements are needed. Another budget item <br />discussed was the replacement of windows with broken seals and the caulking of the <br />building. These items will be included in next year's budget. <br />B. Statistical Report: <br />Since the "Young Adult" holdings have been separated and shelved apart from the <br />"Adult" fiction, usage for that area has gone up significantly. <br />V. Friends of the Library <br />None given <br />F. Director's Remarks <br />In discussion, Chair Linda Vandiver requested that discarded children's books be given to the <br />PJC Adult Education program so that they can be used in the homes of students. Since the books are <br />property of the City of Paris the Director will check with the Finance Director about disposing of the <br />items. <br />Adjournment: <br />Meeting was adjourned at 4:45 p.m. <br />Submitted: <br />Alice Woodard <br />�_ 22 <br />
