Item No. 10 <br />memo�andum <br />TO: City Council <br />John Godwin, City Manager <br />FROM: Randy Tuttle, Assistant Chief of Police <br />SUBJECT: Lamar County Multi-Jurisdictional Mitigation plan <br />DATE: March 18, 2013 <br />BACKGROIJND: In 2003 an all-hazard Mitigation Plan was developed for Lamar County. <br />This plan also included the City of Paris and other jurisdictions within Lamar County. The plan <br />is directed at making Lamar County and its citizenry safer from disasters by reducing the risks of <br />property and lives from a variety of natural and man-made disasters. This plan has not been <br />updated since 2003. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: Lamar County is currently in the process of updating the plan. A <br />Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is required from all jurisdictions in Lamar County that <br />are included in the Mitigation Plan, including the City of Paris. The City Council is requested to <br />approve the Memorandum of Understanding. After a final draft is finished it will be presented to <br />council, and a request will be made at a later date to pass a resolution to accept the Lamar <br />County Multi-Jurisdictional Plan. <br />BUDGET: No impact to the budget <br />RECOMMENDATION: Recommend Council approve and sign the Memorandum of <br />Understanding <br />•� <br />
