• Determine a planning coordinator from City of Paris that will be the lead contact to the <br />Lamar County Multi-lurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan Committee and who will <br />regularly attend the meetings. <br />• Offer assistance to the Lamar County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan <br />Committee in developing the work program which will produce the Lamar County Multi- <br />Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan. <br />• Host one regular committee meetings for the planning committee in coordination with <br />Lamar County in the City of Paris. <br />• Assist Lamar County with organizing public meetings to develop the plan. <br />• Identify the community resources available to support the planning effort, including <br />people who will have access to and can provide pertinent data. Examples include, but <br />are not limited to, City committee members, such as the Fire or Police Chief, who is able <br />to identify past hazardous situations, research the assessed values of buildings within <br />the Wildland Urban Interface and research existing City planning documents to identify <br />existing mitigation strategies in hazard and wildfire areas. <br />• Assist with recruiting participants for planning meetings, including the development of <br />mailing lists when and if necessary, distribution of flyers, and placement of ineeting <br />announcements in the City of Paris community. <br />• Gain the support of stakeholders for the recommendations found within the plan. <br />• Keep the Paris City Council informed and offer opportunity for their review at various <br />stages of the planning process. <br />• Forward local information to the Committee Chair such as anecdotal information from <br />the community to be incorporated into the proposed plan. <br />• Submit the proposed plan to the City Council of Paris for consideration and adoption. <br />After adoption of the Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan, the City will: <br />• Assist the Lamar County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan committee to <br />monitor and work toward plan implementation. <br />• Publicize the Plan to the City of Paris and ensure community members are aware of the <br />Plan and its contents. <br />• Urge the Paris City Council to incorporate those priority projects found most important <br />into the community's Capital Improvement Plan. <br />• Integrate mitigation strategies and priorities for all these plans into other City plans. <br />LAMAR COUNTY'S RESPONSIBILITIES: <br />• Collect data necessary to complete the Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan in a <br />comprehensive manner. <br />• Coordinate and facilitate community meetings with the assistance of the local planning <br />committee. <br />62 <br />
