Minutes <br />Traffic Commission <br />City of Paris <br />The Traffic Commission met on Tuesday, March 05, 2013 at 5:15 P.M. in the <br />Municipal Courtroom with the following members present: <br />1. Jean Schweers <br />2. Barry Shiver <br />3. Susan Hamby <br />4. Joe McCarthy <br />5. Ken Kohls <br />The city staff was represented by Asst. Chief Randy Tuttle. <br />City Councilman Aaron Jenkins was present as City Council Liaison. <br />Vice-Chairman Mr. Shivers called the meeting to order at 5:15pm. A quorum was <br />established with five members present. <br />Mr. Shivers moved to item #2 to approve minutes January 08, 2013 meeting. Mr. <br />Kohls made a motion to approve minutes and was second by Ms. Hamby. Motion <br />carried 5-0. <br />Mr. Shiver then moved to item #3 regarding the discussion and possible action <br />regarding installation of stop signs at intersection of 24th NW & Cherry. Mr. Tuttle <br />informed members that he had received a call from Donnie Perry 365 24th NW <br />concerning this intersection. Mr. Tuttle stated Perry advised that vehicles do not <br />stop at the intersection and there have almost been accidents. Mr. Tuttle <br />informed members that this intersection does not currently have any traffic <br />control devices. After discussion Ms. Hamby made a motion to place stop signs <br />at the intersection for east and westbound traffic on Cherry. Ms. Schweers <br />second the motion and it carried 4-1 with Mr. McCarthy casting the dissenting <br />vote. <br />Mr. Shiver moved to item #4 regarding the discussion and possible action <br />regarding installation of No Parking Zones on the east and west sides of Johnson <br />Woods Drive from Carson Lane to Clark Lane for installation of bicycle lane. Mr. <br />Tuttle informed members that all residents along Johnson Wood Drive where <br />notified of the issue and informed of this meeting. Mr. Tuttle informed members <br />that he had received a call from Roxanne Hadley who expressed concerns about <br />the No Parking Zone. Mr. Tuttle informed members that the plan for Safe Routes <br />to Schools Project has bicycle lanes on both side of Johnson Woods from <br />Carson Lane north to Clark Lane and it is recommended that a No Parking Zone <br />�9 <br />
