Division 3-B Conc. Reinf. <br />CONCRETE REINFORCEMENT <br />GENERAL: Fully cooperate with other trades in the <br />installation of their devices and equipment. Comply with <br />all requirements of the "General Requirements". All labor <br />and material under this Division shall be guaranteed in <br />accordance with the General Requirements. <br />SCOPE: Furnish and install according to Plans and as <br />Specified herein all concrete reinforcing and necessary <br />accessories. All detailing, fabrication, placing and <br />supporting shall be in accordance with AC1 318. Where <br />steel reinforcing is shown and called for in concrete <br />including piers, beams and slabs, curbs, sidewalks and <br />paving such reinforcing shall comply to this specification. <br />MATERIAL: Rei:nforcing steel shall be manufactured, <br />fabricated, and placed in accordance with the Standard <br />Practice of the American Concrete Institute. All <br />- reinforcing shall be new billet, A.S.T.M. A615, Grade 60, <br />deformed domestic bars unless noted otherwise on plans. <br />Note that ties and stirrups and H3 or smaller steel may be ' <br />grade 40. Metal accessories shall include chairs, ties, <br />and other devices necessary for properly spacing and <br />supporting reinforcing in accordance with "Specification <br />for Placing Accessories" of the Concrete Reinforcing Steel <br />Institute. Floor steel shall be supported on plastic <br />covered chairs to place reinforcing in slab as detailed. <br />Chairs shall be for supporting steel on sand fill. Provide <br />#4 smooth slip dowels 24" long 29" c.c., through metal <br />keyways at construction joints. Slip dowels shall be <br />qreased one side of joint. Metal keyways are called for in <br />Division 3-A. <br />SHOP DRAWINGS: Promptly after the award of Contract, submit <br />to the Architect for approval (four) copies of shop <br />drawings showing reinforcing steel, expansion joints, <br />anchor bolts, anchor slots, etc., as called for herein. <br />Approval of shop drawings by Architect shall not relieve <br />Contractor from responsibility for errors or omissions <br />therein. All such errors or omissions must be made qood by., <br />- Contractor, irrespective of approval. <br />M <br />
