Diviaion 3-C Cast-In-Place Concrete <br />CA3T-IN-PI,ACE CONCRETE <br />General: Fully cooperate with other trades in the <br />installation of recesses, chases, sleeves, bolts, etc., and <br />comply with all requirements of the "General Requirements". All <br />Labor and material under this division shall be guaranteed_in <br />accordance with the general requirements. <br />S40RR EI,SE'oPBERE SPECIFIED: Reinforcing steel and forming is <br />called for in Division 3-A and 3-B. Excavation, grading, slab <br />cushion and drilling are called for in Division 2-A. Concrete <br />walks, curbs and paving are included in Division 2, but concrete <br />for same shall be mixed and placed as herein required. <br />Scope: Furnish all material, labor, tools & equipment <br />required for all concrete including sidewalks, piers and beams <br />- and slabs, as shown on plans and herein specified. <br />Material: Portland cement shall conform to ASTM Designation <br />C-150, Type 1. Course aggregate shall be crushed rock screened, <br />and free from clay or other foreign matter and 100% shall pass a <br />1 1/2" screen. Sand shall be washed, screened, sharp and well <br />graded in size. Submit samples of both gravel and sand to <br />testing lab for design. <br />ADMIRTURE: All concrete sidewalks, curbs and exterior work or <br />pads not a part of the building shall have an air entraining <br />agent added at the concrete mixing plant to give 5% air content <br />by volume. <br />CONCRETE PROPORTIONS: The following table shows the required <br />weight of cement, sand, and gravel based on 5 1/3 sacks of cement <br />per yard. <br />502 pounds of cement <br />1360 pounds of sand <br />1920 pounds of gravel <br />Concrete shall have a 28 day compressive strength of 3000 psi. <br />The above suggested mix may be modified in advance with <br />Architect's approval to achieve required strength; however, the <br />mix shall not have less cement than 5 1/3 sacks per yard. <br />--4` <br />
