Dioisioa 3-C Cast-In-Place Concrete <br />TESTING: The Test Lab of Hayter Engineering shall, take 2 <br />cylinder samples of each 4 loads delivered. Two cylinders shall <br />be tested on the seventh day and two shall be broken on the <br />twenty-eight day. The contractor shall pay all shipping and lab <br />fees. <br />Any material found defective or non-conforming to the <br />Specifications shall be replaced or repaired at the <br />expense of the contractor. <br />PREPARTION FOR POIIRING: Before concrete is placed, forms shall <br />be carefully checked to make sure they are properly braced and <br />made rigid. Remove all water and trash. Contractor shall notify <br />Architect and testing lab at least 12 hours in advance of any <br />pour and secUre preliminary approval. Give proper notice to <br />Plumber, Electrician, and other trades and make sure all pipe, <br />conduit, and etc., are properly installed. Before depositing new <br />concrete on or against concrete which has set, the surface o£ old <br />concrete shall be roughened, cleaned of all foreign matter, <br />thoroughly wet, and covered with a neat cement grout immediately <br />before new concrete is poured. <br />MI%ING: All concrete shall be transit-mixed, and shall comply <br />with ASTM C94. Plant shall be operated by skilled mechanics <br />under adequate supervision. No water shall be added at job <br />except as directed by Architect. No concrete shall be used one <br />hour after water is added. <br />NECESSARY EQIIIPMENT: The contractor shall provide and use <br />the following equipment as directed by the Architect. <br />Mechanical vibrating equipment with spout inserted directly into <br />concrete. Power driven carborundum stone for rubbing concrete. <br />Crane or hoist for placing concrete. <br />COLD WEATHER REQUIRElENTB: Concrete shall be mixed and <br />placed only when the temperature is at least 40 degrees F. and <br />rising. Suitable means shall be provided for maintaining the <br />concrete at a temperature of at least 50 degrees F. for a period <br />oE 72 hours after placing. Where high-early-strength cement is <br />used in the design, this period may be reduced to 29 hours. <br />Concrete shall not be mixed when aggregates are coated with ice <br />or frost. <br />✓i <br />
