Dinision 3-C Cast-Ia-Place Concrete <br />3IIB-GRADE FOR SLASS: Rough grading and slab cushion are called <br />for under Division 2. Carefully check this work and make sure <br />ditches have been dug, filled, and properly compacted. If <br />necessary, do such fine grading of slab cushion as required and <br />provide a smooth uniform surface for the reception of waterproof <br />membrane. <br />Mâ–ºTERPROOS MMORANE: Cover the entire area under slabs with .006 <br />thickness polyethylene plastic film using wide widths. All joints <br />in polyethylene film shall be lapped and sealed with a double <br />fold. Extend plastic film under all beams, pipes, etc. Take <br />every precaution to avoid puncture of.film while installing steel <br />and concrete. Repair any damage to membrane with tape. <br />PREPARED EXPANSION JOINT: Shall be equal to Johns-Manville 1/2" <br />thick prepared expansion joint. This material shall be neatly <br />- placed with top edge brought to a straight line of uniform <br />thickness. Expansion joints shall be in curbs and drives and <br />301-0" apart, sidewalks 30' apart and at change of direction, or <br />where they join a drive. <br />CONCRETS SI,AB$: The Contractor shall avoid pouring more concrete <br />slab in one day than can be properly finished. Construction <br />joints shall be arranged as shown or directed with additional <br />reinforcing as elsewhere called for. All slabs shall be poured to <br />approved type screeds. When concrete dias reached the proper <br />consistency, the entire surface shall be screeded to a smooth, <br />uniform surface. Remove vertical forms from door sill, and <br />provide a uniform finish. <br />FINISHING: Except where otherwise shown, floor slabs, risers, <br />etc., shall be finished with a steel trowel and brought to a hard <br />slick finish. Special care must be taken to remove all <br />irregularities in £loor slab. If necessary, £loor shall be <br />rubbed with a carborundum stone, machine sanded, or as otherwise <br />directed to provide proper surface for floor finish. Porches <br />shall have light broom finish after steel trowel. CURBS AND <br />GUTTERS shall have float finish with all edges tooled smooth. <br />SIDEWALKS shall have a wood float finish and have all edges <br />tooled. Provide deep tooled joint in walks 5'-0 o.c.. <br />- DRIVES shall be finished as walks except tool joints shall be 15' <br />o.c.. <br />2 7- A <br />
