Division 8-B <br />Doors <br />WOOD DOORS <br />GENERAL: Furnish and install all wood doors shown on plans <br />and described herein. The following are called for elsewhere <br />~-as indicated: Hollow Metal Doors - Division 8-A, <br />and Metal Door Frames - Division 8-A. <br />GUARANTEE: All wood doors shall be covered by the Standard <br />Door Guarantee of the National Woodwork Manufacturer's <br />Association. <br />PAINT REQUIREMENT: Immediately after the installation <br />and cutting to fit of wood doors, the entire door including <br />the top, bottom, and edges shall receive two coats of paint, <br />varnish, or sealer and stain as required to prevent undue <br />absorption of moisture. This requirement shall be the <br />responsibility of the General Contractor and should he <br />neglect to comply he shall assume complete responsibility <br />for any warp which may occur in doors. <br />FITTING DOORS: Before stain and sealing door, cut door <br />bottom to clear finish flooring. Doors shall be hung square; . <br />true and level: <br />HARDWARE: All exterior doors shall have metal thresholds <br />and weather-strips as called for under Division 8-C. <br />WOOD DOORS: Shall be of size, type, and material shown <br />on schedule. Birch doors shall be rotary cut natural birch, <br />flush surface hardboard doors shall be flush panel doors. <br />Where glass is called for in Door Schedule, same shall <br />be tempered. Double doors shall not have astrigals unless <br />noted otherwise. <br />FLUSH DOORS: Shall be of size and type scheduled on plans <br />and shall be equal to Cal-Wood Door Company. <br />HOLLOW CORE DOORS shall be standard grade with 1" minimum <br />width stile and 2-1/4" rail. Core shall be at least honey- <br />comb expanded craft fiber. Each face shall be 3-plywood <br />veneer. Lock block shall be at least 3-5/8" from door edge. <br />SOLID CORE DOORS shall be of particle board or stave core <br />meeting CS-236 for Type 1, Density C, Class 1, minimum <br />stile 1-1/8", rail 2-1/411. Each face shall be 3-plywood <br />veneer. <br />EXTERIOR GRADE DOORS shall be made with Type 1 waterproof <br />adhesive. <br />INTERIOR GRADE DOORS shall be made with Type 2 water <br />resistance adhesive. <br />- <br />5q <br />
