Division 9-G <br />Flooring <br />RESILIENT FLOORING <br />GENERAL: Furnish all labor and material to install all <br />resilient flooring shown on plans and described herein. <br />. Material stored on the job shall be neatly stacked in a <br />- dry place. As work progresses, waste material shall be <br />removed from the job site, keeping the building and site <br />cleared and orderly. Work in harmony with other trades <br />that need to install floor set fixtures.and drains. <br />GUARANTEE: As called for in "General Conditions", the <br />Contractor shall guarantee the work of this Division to <br />be free from defects in material and workmanship. <br />SCOPE: This Contractor includes all labor and material <br />required for the installation of: vinyl composition tile <br />flooring, and rubber base where called for on Finish Schedule. <br />SAMPLES: The Contractor shall submit samples of floor <br />covering for approval in advance of installation time. <br />The Architect may reject submitted brands of flooring on <br />the bases of color as well as quality. The color and pattern <br />may vary in different areas of the building. <br />MATERIAL: All colors shall be approved by the Architect. <br />• The materials herein-after mentioned are intended to specify <br />- a quality of material. Materials of other manufacturers <br />may be used when approved by the Architect. <br />VINYL COMPOSITION TILE: flooring shall be Azrock, Armstrong <br />or approved equal, 12" x 12" x 1/8" thick, and "Thru-Chip" <br />pastels as selected by the Architect, in marbleized pattern. <br />RUBBER BASE: shall be Johnsonite or equal 4" high top <br />set with cove. Provide preformed outside corner and mitered <br />inside corners. <br />ADHESIVE: shall be waterproof and of type recommended <br />by floor manufacturer. <br />PREPARATION OF SORFACES: This Sub-contractor shall work <br />with the General Contractor and secure proper surfaces <br />for the reception of resilient flooring. Remove all existing <br />flooring and mastid. All surfaces to receive flooring <br />shall be brought to a smooth surface. The installation <br />of any material shall be construed as the acceptance of <br />the surface as satisfactory and this Sub-Contractor shall <br />• be responsible for any defects in completed surface. <br />INSTALLATION: Floor covering shall not be undertaken until <br />after completion of all other work, except movable or <br />detachable equipment. <br />Inspect concrete floors to see that all surfaces are smooth, <br />even, and clean before installation. Any floor to rough <br />for direct application shall be machine sanded, or as other- <br />wise directed, for the removal of irregularities.
