'5 DIVISION 15-8 <br />HEATING AND A/C <br />DUCT WORK: Furnish and erect all ducts, branches, etc., <br />as necessary to make the complete system as shown on the <br />drawings. All ducts shall be fabricated from Armco, or <br />approved equal, galvanized steel sheets in accordance with <br />the following: <br />Ducts with the longest side not more than <br />12" in width . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .26 Ga. <br />Ducts with longest side 13" to 30" <br />In width . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .24 Ga. <br />Round ducts up to 13" in diameter with <br />Crimped and beaded joint and three screws <br />to a joint . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .26 Ga. <br />' Round ducts 19" to 22" in diameter with <br />crimped and beaded joint and four screws <br />to a joint . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .24 Ga. <br />All Wyes splits and reducers in round duct shall be <br />factory made. All horizontal ducts shall be rigidly <br />supported•from the structure by means of strap hangers. <br />Where necessary to change the size or shape oP a duct, the <br />Architect must be consulted for re-sizing or re-routing. <br />All rectangle ducts shall be cross broken for stiffness. <br />All joints in ductwork shall be tapped with approved type <br />duct tape. All taps in plenum shall be caulked with <br />silicone caulk to prevent air loss. <br />GRILLES, REGI3TERS AND DIFFUSERS: This Contractor shall <br />furnish and install all ceiling outlets, exhaust <br />registers, supply and return grilles and registers, and <br />air control devices, as are indicated on the drawings and <br />specifications herein. Grilles, registers and outlets <br />shall be supplied in factory finisH Dover-white enamel. <br />Ceiling outlets shall be furnished and installed with <br />suitable frames and flanges, which will work to the <br />particular ceiling material and permit proper adjustment <br />, and service. <br />IN3ULATION: All insulation shall be securely and neatly <br />applied according to manufacturer's recommendations. AIR <br />DUCTS (INDOOR) Shall be insulated with 2" thick 44 lb. per <br />cubic foot density Owens-Corning Eiberglass, or approved <br />equal, flexible duct insulation with factory adhered <br />reinforced foil faced Kraft paper. Insulation shall be <br />pulled tight and stapled at all joints. Insulation shall <br />be glued and anchored with mechanical fasteners as <br />recommended by manufacturer. <br />DRAIN PIPING: Provide 1" condensate drain with clean outs <br />and extend to plumbing outlet provided by Plumber. Drain <br />shall be schedule 1" copper using approved fittings, <br />primer and cement. <br />, <br />7 G~' <br />
