§ 6-21 PARIS CODE <br /> <br />air taxi, pilot training, aircraft rental and sight- <br />seeing, aeria] photography, crop dusting, aerial <br />advertising and surveying, aircraft sales and ser- <br />vices, sale of aviation petroleum product, repair <br />and maintenance of aircraft, and any other activ- <br />ities which, because of their direct relationship to <br />the operation of aircraft, may appropriately be <br />regarded as an "aeronautical activity." <br />(Code 1970, § 6-16) <br /> Cross reference--Definitions and rules of construction gen- <br />erally, § 1-3. <br /> <br /> Sec. 6-22. Permits for aeronautical activities. <br /> <br /> (a) No person shall engage in an aeronautical <br />activity at Cox Field without first having obtained <br />a permit therefor from the manager. The city <br />clerk will provide an application for such a per- <br />mit to all persons desiring the same. The airport <br />manager will maintain forms for application for <br />aeronautical activities, which may be procured <br />by persons desiring to engage in such activity at <br />Cox Field. A permit shall be granted if the grantee <br />agrees to comply with all relevant provisions of <br />this article and presents proof of the insurance <br />required under paragraph (e) of this section. <br /> <br /> (b) Permits shall be reviewed annually by the <br />airport advisory board (created by Resolution No. <br />1354 of January 12, 1970), which shall make rec- <br />ommendations to the city council for or against <br />renewal. It shall recommend renewal if the per- <br />mittee has complied with all relevant provisions <br />of this article and applicable laws. <br /> <br /> (c) Permits issued under this section may be <br />revoked after ten (10) days' notice and hearing for <br />the failure to comply with this article. <br /> <br /> (d) All permittees under this section shall at- <br />tend fire, rescue and other emergency training as <br />directed by the airport manager and shall serve <br />as a volunteer on the fire and rescue crew to <br />answer all emergencies. <br /> <br /> (e) All permittees shall have a minimum of two <br />hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000.00) for <br />each person and five hundred thousand dollars <br />($500,000.00) for each single occurrence for bodily <br />injury or death and one hundred thousand dollars <br />($100,000.00) for each single occurrence for injury <br /> <br />Supp. No. 7 - -- <br /> <br />430 <br /> <br />to or destruction'of property i-~surance coverage <br />with the City being reflected as an additional in- <br />sured in their policies; and, additionally, permit- <br />tees must meet or exceed insurance to meet cur- <br />rent state, FAA Rules and Regulations and federal <br />law, if any, for their particular activity or activi- <br />ties. <br /> <br /> (f) The requirements prescribed by this article <br />shall constitute the minimum standards to be met <br />as a condition for the right of any person to con- <br />duct an aeronautical activity on Cox Field. Such <br />standards are reasonable and relevant to the cov- <br />ered activities and shall be applied objectively <br />and uniformly. <br />(Code 1970, § 6-17; Ord. Reservation of city's rights. <br /> <br /> (a) The City reserves the right to further de- <br />velop or improve the landing area of the airport <br />as it sees fit, regardless of the desires or views ef <br />the operator, and without interference or hinderance. <br /> <br /> Co) The City reserves the right, but shall not be <br />obligated to the operator, to maintain and keep in <br />repair the landing area of the airport and all <br />publicly-owned facilities of the airport, together <br />with the right to direct and control all activities <br />of the operator in this regard. <br /> <br /> (c) During time of war or national emergency, <br />the City shall have the right to lease the landing <br />area or any part thereof to the United States <br />Government for military or naval use, and if any <br />such lease is executed, the provisions of this arti. <br />cie, insofar as they are inconsistent with the pro- <br />visions of the lease to the government, shall be <br />suspended. <br />(Code 1970, §'6-18) <br /> <br />Sec. 6-24. Article subordinate to agreements <br />between city and United States. <br />This article shall be subordinate to the provi- <br />sions of any existing or future agreement between <br />the City and the United States, relative to the <br />operation and maintenance of the airport. <br />(Code 1970, § 6-19) <br /> <br /> <br />
