WHEREAS, the City contracted with ETTL Engineers and Consultants to additionally <br />perform an asbestos survey at the City Hall/old Central Fire Station building, and they have likewise <br />advised the City of Paris that asbestos has been located in certain accessible areas of this building as <br />well; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris finds and determines that the performance <br />of asbestos removal at the UARCO building and the City Hall/old Central Fire Station building would <br />be in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things <br />approved. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the City Manager and the City Engineer are hereby authorized to solicit <br />proposals for the performance of asbestos removal at the "UARCO" building, which will be converted <br />to a law enforcement center for police, court, and jail facilities, and the City Hall/old Central Fire <br />Station building, <br /> <br /> Section 3. That, upon receipt of said proposals, the City will comply with State law regarding <br />pursuit of the negotiation of a contract for said services. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That, following negotiation of said contract, the City Manager and the City <br />Engineer will present a contract to the City Council for approval to perform the aforesaid asbestos <br />removal. <br /> <br /> Section 5. That funds for said asbestos removal from the "UARCO" building shall be taken <br />from Combination Tax and Revenue Certificates of Obligation, Series 2002. <br /> <br /> Section 6. That funds for said asbestos removal from the City Hall/old Central Fire Station <br />building shall be taken from other funds. <br /> <br />Section 7.
