Minutes of Regular Meeting <br />Paris-Lamar County Board of Health <br /> <br />The Paris-Lamar County Board of Health held its regular meeting Wednesday, February <br />19, 2003 at Christus St. Joseph Health System, North Campus. Board members in <br />attendance included Dr. Robert Moseley, Dr. Bert Strom, Dr. Wally Kraft and Mrs. Ann <br />Nonneut. Others in attendance included Judge Chuck Superville, Mr. Anthony Bethel, <br />Mrs. LaDonna Koehn, Mr. Paul Swasko and Mrs. Carla Rhodes. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:00 AM. The minutes of the previous meeting were <br />approved. <br /> <br />Mr. Bethel reported that Dr. Edward Clark and Mr. Byron Muse have resigned fi.om the <br />board. <br /> <br />Judge Superville states he knows a nurse, Mary Lou Bayer and two lay persons, Kay <br />Cobb and Shellie Husa that might be considered for positions on the board. <br /> <br />Mr. Bethel states that according to the City's guidelines there are eight positions on the <br />board, three Doctors, one Veterinarian, one Dentist and three lay persons. <br /> <br />Dr. Kraft states that he will talk with Dr. Clark, on which pediatrician might fill his <br />position'on the board. <br /> <br />Dr. Kraft requested results on the Quality Assurance Audit. <br /> <br />Mr. Bethel explained that the financial auditor wanted a time study done, to use to bill <br />percentages of salaries and recalculate it each month. The record review went well. <br /> <br />Dr. Kraft wanted to know how the Health Department schedules patients. <br /> <br />Mrs. Koehn states that they schedule patients every fifteen minutes but the no show rote <br />is high. They also see walk-ins. She states that they have a Spanish Translator on <br />Tuesdays and that the show rate on Tuesdays is better. <br /> <br />Mr. Bethel states that the Spanish Translator, Rosalinda, is not paid and that paying her <br />would need to be put into the Health Department's budget. <br /> <br />Dr. Kraft states to put Rosalinda's salary in the budget, for two days a week. <br /> <br />Mr. Bethel reports that the Bioterrorism Grant is now managed by TDH-Tyler. The <br />Health Department nurses will be attending the training on Smallpox, this week. <br /> <br /> <br />
