I was in Plano, Texas July 13,2013 (Sat. night at Park Festival) with band playing for summer evening enjoyment. Security
guard refused to allow a lady with a dog to attend gathering because the previous week a dog bit a small child. People need
to use common sense when spending time with their pets as pets don't have the character of human beings. Children need
our protection!
Parks make the surrounding housing areas unsafe at night. Kids traffic there at all times in the late PM and early AM hours.
We need more lighting and extra patrols for safety of everyone.
Property taxes are too high!
Finish Lake Crook. Paris will grow around Lake Crook one day and shoreline should be park area.
Name parks for large donors /legacy donation
Our children especially need more play areas, water parks, convenient, safe. Do something with Lakes - clean up area,
paddle boats, camping, cooking areas, walking access, bike trail around lake, concessions, band area, fireworks at lake, nice
swim area. Lake Crook - add another entrance - clear up water - use lake!
MAINTENANCE! Make something worth wanting to see /use.
South East Section Comments
Priority should be getting children off the street and into safe, clean parks
Pay for use miniature golf facility. Also for night use and a good location.
Question 7J is critical. Please insure all parks (existing parks & new facilities) are well maintained, i.e., routine cleaning,
watering grass & flower beds, mowing, etc. A well maintained park is essential.
You insult me by even sending this stupid survey. Fix what I needed first then start worrying about crap like this. Nothing
is needed until you stop ignoring the culverts!!! We need culverts that won't erode our backyards, flood our homes, wash
away all bridges and breed insects. Inform us of events & just surprise us as usual after it is done - just do it first and then
bill us anyway you choose as usual. Fix what needs it first and forget parks. Tax payers can pay, as usual we have no
choice. While you are working on spending more money on parks (and DOG parks for God's sake) wouldn't you have more
fun watching our homes and yards flood because the city "can't afford" to clear, clean, repair and or widen drainage ditches?
Unlawful activities in large parks. Need to be small enough for easy observation by police or volunteers when in use. Any
winter activities ?? Planned activities for young people keep crime rate down.
Need a zoo like Gainesville
For a city of this size, places for family gatherings is minimal. More parks per development would enhance growth.
We love movies in the park and would love for there to be more activities like this. Also, we regularly use the parks and
recreation facilities and appreciate any additions or improvements!
Small entrance fees acceptable for botanical gardens /splash parks
Parks need to be user friendly for everyone! Older /Senior citizens are fearful of the parks because kids run rampant and
there is little available seating to just sit and enjoy. Checker /chessboard areas, shaded areas, CLEAN restrooms & water
fountains & Security are areas that need to be considered to make parks enjoyable & useable for all citizens! AND, parents
should not be able to use parks as baby sitters.
We need parks for our children.
It would be great if the City of Paris would provide and maintain a baseball complex like most cities.
