Dispose of old <br /> filters. <br /> <br /> 3.8.10 The Contractor shall be responsible for all damage that occurred as <br /> <br />-- a result of abatement activities in all areas. <br /> Part 4 Support Activities and Personnel <br /> 4.1 Training <br /> <br /> 4.1.1 Training shall be provided by the Contractor for all employees or <br /> agents who may be required to disturb asbestos containing or asbestos <br /> <br />-- contaminated materials for abatement and auxiliary purposes and to <br /> all supervisory personnel who may be involved in planning, execution <br /> or inspection of abatement projects. <br /> <br /> 4.1.2 Training shall be provided, by an accredited training program or a <br /> state approved training provider from states approved by the EPA. <br /> <br />-- 4.1.3 Training is to have occurred within 12 months prior to the initiation <br /> <br /> of abatement activities. <br /> <br />__ 4.1.4 Contractor must document training by providing names and <br /> qualifications of trainers or a copy of Certification of Completion <br /> of an approved course. <br /> <br /> 4.2 Medical Monitoring <br /> <br /> 4.2.1 Medical monitoring in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.1101 OR 40 CFR Part <br /> <br />-- 763 must be provided by the Contractor to any employee or agent that <br /> may be exposed to asbestos in excess of the action level during any <br /> phase of the abatement project. <br /> <br /> 4.3 Owner's Representative <br /> <br /> 4.3.1 The Engineer/Project Manager, or such other person the Owner <br />-- designates in writing, shall be the Owner's Representative (competent <br /> <br /> person). <br /> <br /> 4.3.2 The Owner's Representative shall be qualified through registration <br /> and successful completion of an EPA approved course in "Supervision <br /> Procedures and Practices for AsbestosAbatement Projects." He shall <br /> be responsible for following at a minimum: submittals. <br /> <br /> 4.3.3 The Owner's Representative shall have the authority to stop any job <br /> activities if they are not being performed in accordance with <br /> applicable regulations or guidelines or the requirements of this <br /> specification.
