Where definite <br /> materials, equipment and/or fixtures have been specified by name, <br /> manufacturer or catalog number, it has been done so as to set a definite <br /> standard and a reference for coraparison as to quality, application, physical <br /> <br />-- conformity, and other characteristics. It is not the intention to <br /> <br /> discriminate against or prevent any dealer, jobber or manufacturer from <br /> furnishing materials, equipment, and/or fixtures which meet or exceed the <br /> characteristics of the specific items. Substitution of materials shall not <br /> <br /> be made without prior written approval from the Owner and the <br /> Engineer/Project Manager. <br /> <br /> 5.14 SHOP DRAWINGS AND SAMPLES: <br /> <br /> 5.14.1 Shop Drawings are drawings, diagrams, illustrations, schedules, <br /> performance charts, brochures and other data which are prepared by <br /> the Contractor or any subcontractor, manufacturer, supplier or <br /> distributor, and which illustrate some portion of the Work. <br /> <br /> 5.14.2 Samples are physical examples furnished by the Contractor to <br /> illustrate materials, equipment or workmanship, and to assist in <br /> the establishment of standards by which the Work will be judged. <br /> <br /> 5.14.3 The Contractor shall subduer, with reasonable promptness and in <br /> orderly sequence, all Shop Drawings and Samples required by the <br /> <br />- Contract Documents, or subsequently by the Engineer/Project <br /> Manager as covered by modifications. The Contractor shall review <br /> them for compliance with Contract Documents and shall certify that <br /> he has done so by stamp, or otherwise, affixed to each copy <br /> thereof. <br /> <br /> 5.14.4 Shop Drawings and Samples shall be properly identified, as <br /> specified as the Engineer/Project Manager may require. At the <br /> time of submission, the Contractor shall inform the <br /> Engineer/Project Manager in writing of any deviation in the Shop <br /> <br />-- Drawings or Samples from the requirements of the Contract <br /> Documents. <br /> <br />.... 5.14.5 By submitting Shop Drawings and Samples, the Contractor thereby <br /> represents that he has determined and verified all field <br /> measurements, field construction criteria, materials, catalog <br /> numbers and similar data, or will do so, and that he has checked <br /> <br /> 4/11/03 12 <br /> <br /> <br />
