Regular City Council Meeting <br />May 12,2003 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; MAKING OTHER FiNDiNGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; REPEALING ALL <br />ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES iN CONFLICT HEREWITH; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE, WAS PRESENTED. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilwoman <br />Neeley, for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br /> <br />Mayor Fendley called for a report from the City Council Water and Sewer <br />Subcommittee. <br /> <br />City Manager Malone advised that minutes were furnished for the <br />Subcommittee. Councilman Plata said he planned to have another meeting <br />May 22, 2003; and he also planned to have a recommendation at that time. <br />Councilman Plata respectfully asked Mayor Fendley if he would call a <br />special City Council meeting in the last week of May so they can bring those <br />recommendations to the City Council and then they can act on the <br />recommendations and on the water issue that night. <br /> <br />Mayor Fendley said he would have everyone review their calendars and see <br />if a meeting could be arranged. Councilwoman Neeley advised that meeting <br />will be at 4:00 P.M. in this room instead of the regular time. <br /> <br />Mayor Fendley announced that the next item on the agenda was a <br />presentation by OMI Management, Inc., regarding outside management of <br />municipally-owned water and sewer systems. <br /> <br />Mayor Fendley introduced Shirley Ross, Regional Business Manager- <br />Project Development with OMI Management, Inc. <br /> <br />Ms. Ross came forward advising that representatives of OMI were present <br />to tell the City Council about their company and what they do. They hope <br /> <br /> <br />
