Planning and Zoning Meeting <br /> July 8, 2003 <br /> Page 5 <br /> <br /> Deryl Bulls, Deacon of Church of Christ, stated the church owns land <br /> 30 feet away from the proposed change and was not notified of the <br /> proposed change. <br /> <br /> Steve Methven stated that a notification letter was sent to the church as <br /> a property owner in the area. <br /> <br /> Audie Niesler, Rt. 1, Brookston, Chairman of the Deacons of Lamar <br /> Avenue Church of Christ spoke in opposition to the petition stating <br /> that because of a lot of the members being older, the sign could be a <br /> problem causing accidents for the older members of the church. <br /> <br /> Ann Gillian, Rt. 1, Box 3480, member of Keep Paris Beautiful <br /> Committee, spoke in opposition to the petition stating her concern and <br /> agreed with Mr. Patel that the sign would be unattractive and <br /> distracting at this location. <br /> <br /> Steve Methven read a letter, from James Sharrock, 3460 Pine Mill <br /> Road, Paris Air Conditioning, in opposition to the petition. Mr.~ <br /> Sharrockstated that the sign would be a distraction and an obstruction <br /> t° the appearance of the local businesses in the area and devaluation of~ <br /> the adjoining property that he owns. <br /> <br /> There was no further opposition, the public hearing was declared <br /> cloSed. <br /> <br />7. consideration of and action on the petition ofRonald Kyle for a change <br /> in zoning from a Commercial District (C) to a Commercial District (C) <br /> With Specific Use Permit (52) Signs and Billboards, Lot 26, City Block <br /> 296, being number 495 35th Street NE. <br /> <br /> <br />
