Public hearings will be held in the field at a designated location and time which
have been published. Two tracts have been requested to be held at a different time
and place. City Council will consider this request at the Thursday meeting.
Eddie Vincent spoke in favor of the annexation, he desires Summerwood II be
annexed and additional property south of Summerwood 11. He would like
Summer-wood II zoned Two - Family Dwelling District (2F) and the property south
of Summerwood II zoned Multiple - Family Dwelling District No. 1 (MF -1). (Eddie
Vincent's notes are attached)
Mr. Richard Nance, Rt. 6, Box 7940, Paris, 75462, spoke in opposition to the
annexation stating fire hydrants would not be installed and he does not want
dictatorship. He is interested in Tract 5.
Mr. Aaron Cunningham, 7245 Windy Drive (FM 195), opposed annexation stating
that he thinks crime is in the city, not in the county. He feels response time from
police will not be very good and that the county can take care of its own business.
Mr. Charles Taylor, 830 Paradise Drive, Paris, objects annexation. He moved out
of the city on purpose because they did not want to be in the city. There are a lot
of problems in the city, there are bad water wells due to runoff from the city, the
cost of watermains is outrageous, and flooding in ditch from water coming from
Morningside. He thinks that the city does not plan to serve subdivisions within the
year.
Mac Ross, 3475 Reno Drive, asked about availability of Master Plan.
Can businesses stay as is or be grandfathered? The answer, yes, but not
necessarily.
Can they have free copy of map? The answer, no.
Is the legal description available? The answer, yes.
Asked Eddie Vincent if he has business plans with Mayor Clifford? The answer,
no, not with Summer-wood.
Mac Ross, 3475 Reno Drive, is interested in all tracts.
Ms. Louis Stuart, 635 Airport Road, thinks they are in Reno ETJ. What can City
of Paris offer? She has access to Reno water, sewer and fire department. Sheriff
responds when needed. Ms. Stuart objects to permits.
Mike Malone stated that Paris and Reno has ETJ agreement.
