5. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Kimberly R. Dacus for a change in <br />zoning from an Agricultural District (A) to a Commercial District (C) on part of Lot <br />7, City Block 318, located in the 3000 Block of N.E. Loop 286. <br />The public hearing was declared opened. <br />Ms. Kimberly Dacus, representing Rubin Burnett, spoke in favor of the zoning change <br />in order to put in a car dealership just east of Papacita's Restaurant. Ms. Dacus stated <br />there was similar zoning around and they would be selling used cars generally three (3) <br />years or newer. <br />No one spoke in opposition and the public hearing was declared closed. <br />A motion was made by Nadine Ausbie to approve the zoning change. The motion was <br />seconded by Marshall Kent and carried by a vote of 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />6. Public Hearing to consider the closing of the alley located between Booth Street <br />and Tudor Street from the west boundary line of 19th N.E., west to the east <br />boundary line of 17th N.E. <br />The public hearing was declared opened. <br />There was no one to speak in favor or in opposition and the public hearing was <br />declared closed. <br />A petition with ten (10) names was presented requesting the closing. Not all the <br />adjacent property owners had signed the petition. <br />A motion was made by Marshall Kent to deny the request. The motion was seconded <br />by Nadine Ausbie and carried by a vote of 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 6:35 p.m. <br />
