MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF <br />MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD <br />WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 20039 3:00 P.M. <br />50 WEST HICKORY STREET <br />1. Present Board Members: <br />Pike Burkhart Sr., Suzy Harper, Renee Harvey, David House, <br />Cari Johnson, Zach Saffle, Linda Suarez and Karen Wilkerson <br />Absent Board Members: <br />Patsy Davis, Bailey Gant and Barbara Wilson <br />2. Discussion of Pumpkin Festival Coordination <br />Lindsey Harper reported that the downtown merchants have <br />started decorating their storefronts. Posters for the festival will <br />be distributed at the end of the week and Millie McDonald and <br />Lisa Wright are to have a map detailing each vendor location <br />and event complete next week. <br />4. Discussion of the Potential Park/ Picnic Areas Downtown <br />Lindsey Harper provided The Board with a copy of the letter <br />from Structual Engineer, Steve Lucy, which was the assessment <br />of the Brown estate after the fire in 2001. Also, picures and ideas <br />of different pocket parks were included in the handouts to The <br />Board. Terry Townsend and Linda Suarez both reported talking <br />to Jerry Raper and indicated that the owner is in favor of giving <br />the property to the city but until the owner and her attorney take <br />any legal action, we are now at a stand still. Suzy Harper <br />suggested that in the mean time a grant should be written. Karen <br />Wilkerson suggested that the Texas Captial Fund grant should be <br />considered. <br />5.
