Regular City Council Meeting <br />August 7, 2003 <br />Page 15 <br /> <br />his property. Mr. Patel said another issue as Mr. Kyle pointed out the sign <br />will be above his roof line and in that context he is trying to see that he does <br />obstruct the Victorian Inn; however, his roof line is at 25 feet and if the <br />billboard is going to be tops at 30 feet, that means he has to obstruct his <br />building, so, it cannot be erected. <br /> <br />Ann Gilliland came forward stating that she representing the Keep Paris <br />Beautiful Committee. She said they asked her to appear and it is was a matter <br />of record what she said on their behalf at not only the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission, but before the City Council and she would like that to stand. Ms. <br />Gilliland requested that the City Council deny this request. <br /> <br />No one else appeared, and the public hearing was declared closed. <br /> <br />Mayor Fendley advised that the next item was an ordinance amending the <br />Zoning Ordinance No. 1710, changing the zoning from a Commercial District <br />©) to a Commercial District©) With Specific Use Permit (52) Signs and <br />Billboards on Lot 26, City Block 296. This item had been tabled at the last <br />City Council meeting and a motion to bring it from the table was in order. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Councilman Weekly, <br />Neeley, to bring the above item from the table. <br />nays. <br /> <br />seconded by Councilwoman <br />The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 <br /> <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Plata to approve the <br />zoning change. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Neeley. The <br />motion failed with a 3 ayes, and 3 nays. <br /> <br />Mayor Fendley announced that for anyone that does not have an opportunity to <br />watch the City Council meeting they are available on tape and they can be <br />checked out at the Paris Public Library. <br /> <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned by Mayor Fendley. <br /> <br /> <br />
