Coordinator report:
A review of the BIG grant based on the past year's suggestions was sent to board members
with highlight sections submitted by email and in packet. All highlighted sections were
reviewed; the recommended changes are as follows:
First page of the grant information:
a. Changes wording on awards from "a 50/50" match to "up to 50/50 ".
b. Signage requests are important for the district. Applicant who submits a request for
funding will only be considered for an award with a rendering from the Texas Main
Street Program Design review.
Second page changes:
c. All grant requests will require three estimates.
Third page changes:
d. The grant window was discussed to allow more time for MSAB to review applications.
Grant window will stay the same; however, the board requested more time to review
requests prior to the meeting. It was determined that Coordinator will send the grant
requests to the advisory board when received the Main Street office. A hard copy will be
sent at the first of the month in which the grant will be considered. This will allow extra
time to review grant by board and address any questions before the regular scheduled
meeting. The grant will still be considered in the Regular Advisory Board meeting.
