Regular City Council Meeting <br />January 12,2004 <br />Page 14 <br /> <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE, WAS READ. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Councilwoman Neeley, seconded by Councilman Bell, <br />for approval of the ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes to 0 nays. <br /> <br />Resolution 2004-001, affirming that the city of Paris has complied with the <br />requirements of the Public Funds Investment Act; amending the city's <br />Investment Policy; making other findings and provisions related to the subject; <br />and proving an effective date, was read. <br /> <br />Councilman Bell asked what was being amended. Director of Finance, Gene <br />Anderson, indicated that the amendments were minor and involved some <br />account numbers, but that the Council had to vote on it every year. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Councilman Guest and seconded by Councilman <br />Weekly. The motion carried 6 ayes to 0 nays. <br /> <br />Resolution 2004-002, stating the City of Paris' continued support of the <br />Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension Program and the continuing <br />efforts of the Tri-County Drug Task Force to target illicit controlled substance <br />and organized criminal activity, was read. <br /> <br />Councilman Bell moved to accept the ordinance which was seconded by <br />Councilwoman Neeley. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br /> <br />A resolution approving and authorizing a grant application to the Office of the <br />Governor, Criminal Justice Division, Texas Narcotics Control Program, for a <br />Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension Program Grant was read. <br /> <br />Police Chief Karl Louis explained that the monetary amounts in the resolution <br />were left blank because Red River County and Clarksville are no longer <br />participating agencies, but Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County have lost <br />agencies, also. Chief Louis indicated they would all be combining forces, <br /> <br /> <br />
